I will sift through the records and see what I can discover for you. It is really confusing because the white and the African American Shehee's have the same first names too lots of the times. I am white; but I have been listing all the African American Shehee's in the 1870 census and trying to match them by age with the 1850 and 1860 slave census. Some have matched right up and some are close enough that I am relatively sure they are the same. I also am trying to list the marriage records with each other.
The white Shehee's were in Washington County, Ga.; Pike County Ga.; Madison County Fla.; Jefferson and Leon counties in Fla. and Beinville Parish La.
I will see what I can find out for you and get back to you.
