I don't have much.
Just a picture of a young lady named Earline Berryhill taken 1947 in Plain Dealing/Rocky Mount area. She looks to be about 16-17 years, standing next to a wooden fence holding school books.. (Probably born about 1930-ish)
I'd like to find who her parents were and what connection there is to these older Berryhill women I have info on.. (See next paragraph)
Jane Berryhill (Mary Jane Moxley Berryhill, 1836-1915), married Daniel Bass (1839-1906) . Both were from Barbour Co. Alabama area originally and came to Louisiana after the war with some other relations. Both Jane & Daniel are buried in Rocky Mount Cemetery.
Info from a copy of the Rocky Mount Cemetery Book states that Jane Berryhill also had a sister, Fanny Berryhill who married Fenton William Bass, one or both of them is buried in Millers Bluff, AR
I have since found in the 1940 census an Earleane Berryhill aged 9 years (born about 1931) living in Bossier parish in the household of her grandfather, Russell J Chamlee. And a woman who is Russell's daughter who appears to possibly be Earleane's mother named Carmel Harper b. about 1913. Looks as if she was marked as married on the census but then it was scratched though. Earleane is born in Mississippi. The grandfather and the woman are both born in Lousiana.
So, I looked back in 1930 in Mississippi census and found a Carmella Berryhill about the same age (1912) married to a Mathew Berryhill (b. 1909) living in Hinds County. Carmella is listed as born in Louisiana. Mathew, born Mississippi. Perhaps these are Earlene's parents.
There is a Carmell C. Harper listed on findagrave (54402849) b. Feb. 8, 1913 d. Sep. 30, 1975 buried in Munnerlyn Chapel Cemetery in Ida , Caddo parish, LA.
Possibly Carmell (Chamlee) Berryhill/Harper?
And there is a Mathew P. Berryhill listed on findagrave (87438080) b. Feb. 6, 1909 d. Sep. 9, 1961 buried in Salem Cemetery, Learned, Hinds County Mississippi, USA
