Many families were missed...particularly if they were migrating on the road, at the time...."

Having looked at thousands of census records myself I can attest to that. I'm always amazed that so many people were actually recorded into the census books.

I've recently been tracing the children and descendants of Thomas T. Stroud and Martha Duff Swaggart and slowly but surely they are "emerging" from the records.
