Thank you so much for looking. I'm at a dead end, with my branch of the Masters family. So far I've found nothing mentioning Issac's fathers name.
My dad always said they were black Irish, but I went to Ireland. In all the phone books I checked there was no Masters. I went to Scotland and there were Masters.
There was a forced exit of tenant farmers from Scotland in
1746, so the head of the clan's could raise sheep. I'm guessing that,s when they left. So between 1746 / 1810 Masters got to America.
Did he get to Louisiana before or after the purchase of Louisiana Territory?
I only hope he bought land or some property that left a record.
