Hi littleraven7408: We are going on a "roots road trip" to Iberville and Catahoula parishes April 4-7, 2012 and hope to find some information about my husband and sister-in-law's GG-grandmother Sophia Ball/Balls/Paul. She lived in Catahoula Parish and was listed on 1870, 1880 and 1900 censuses. Do you have any recommendations where we might go to find out about her and her children? She was living with my husband's GGrandfather in Bayou Goula, Iberville Parish according to 1910 census. We think she may have passed away there. The family name was changed to Kearney (someone may have run afoul of the law??) but Sophia and her children were all Ball surnames in the censuses. Thanks for any help or advice you can give us!
