Two John Crooks are in the home of Stephen Crooks and Nancy Hufffman in 1850 census - Catahoula parish, LA. The first one is John (Thomas) Crooks age 15 the son of Stephen and Nancy. The last one listed is John Crooks age 16. He and Martha Smith are the parents of Richard Henry Crooks, my great grandfather. They show up in the 1860 census for Little River, Catahoula with two children; R H male age 5(Richard Henry)and N M female age 1. R H shows up in the 1870 census in Hemp Creek age 15 with W. J. Lacey (family history names Laceys and Deshotels as cousins and John B Crooks a civil war train wreck casualty. Any information you could find would be appreciated. Already have information on Stephen and Nancy Huffman Crooks but what was their relationship to John B???
