Charles Butler Smith, born feb 1844, died Jan 5 1905 in Enterprise, catahoula parish at Catahoula baptist church cemetery.

I have heard but cannot confirm that his parents are John Smith and Elizabeth Lacy. Census records say his father, "John" was born in New York. I think his parents must have died young because there is a census record of Charles Butler living with an older Rentha Smith in 1850.
