Hello. I am searching for any information about a Morgan
Ruckman who may have lived in Lake Providence in the late
1800s. I have a letter written by him on Aug. 4, 1881 on
letterhead that reads: V.M. Purdy, Receiving and Forwarding
Agent, and Proprietor of Wharfboat. The letter was found in
my great uncle's possessions in West Virgina. The letter has clues that Morgan may be a good link to my finding out
more about my gggrandfather John Ruckman. If anyone knows of any Ruckman families in the area or anything about V.M. Purdy (perhaps a steamboat captain?), I would really appreciate it. Or if you have suggestions on how to track Morgan Ruckman down with the little infomration I have. He may have worked in Lake Providence, but lived somewhere else. Thank you
