African American Hatfield or Turner

Classification: Query
Surnames: Hatfield, Turner, Jackson
The death certificate of my paternal great grandmother Nancy Scott lists her mother’s name as Evelyn Jackson and her father as William Hatfield. All the previous information we have on her (marriage licenses, census report from East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana from 1870 and 1880 says Nancy Scott mother was Emeline Turner and there was no mention of her father. What we can determine so far is the person who wrote the death certificate heard Evelyn instead of Emeline thus the misspelling of the first name. But now we know her maiden name was Jackson. We are just confused about was William named Hatfield or Turner. My late grandmother always told my father she was a Hatfield and this death certificate is the first document we ran across confirming what she has been saying all these years. I am looking for any help with this information. Emeline was born about 1832 in Louisiana. Children known were Amelia born about 1855, Nancy born about 1860 and Harrison born about 1856. Any help is a plus. Thanks.
