Your Message Board Post was gatewayed to me - I am interested in learning more about your Census CDs.

page 268, "The Fontenot Family 1600-1903: A Genealogical Study of The Descendants of Jean Louis Fontenot dit Colin and Louise Angelique Henry" pub. 1999 by The Evangeline Genealogical and Historical Society, P. O. Box 664, Ville Platte, LA 70586. No descendants are listed.
page 267 "Faustin P.J.L. Fontenot married Marie Louise Ramires"
Faustin, born February 14, 1798 (Opel. Ch.) the son of Philippe J.L. Fontenot and Francoise Marie Berza, married Marie Louise Ramires on October 14, 1830 (Opel. Ch.). Marie, the daughter of Claude Ramires and Marie Ignace Martinos, was born about 1814. She is listed as being from San Antonio on the marriage record and as being from Mexico on the 1860 Calcasieu Parish census. Their marriage in 1830 was a validation, they were married civilly sometime prior to that date.
Faustin and his family migrated to the Calcasieu Parish area in the 1930s. Faustin died prior to 1850, his wife, Wid. Faustin Fonteneau age 36, is listed on the 1850 Calcasieu Parish Census. She is listed as a Midwife, age 50, on the 1860 census.
This family appears to be one of the early Fontenot families to migrate to the Calcasieu Parish area.
(Special thanks to Dr. Wridley A. Fontenot of Kinder for identifying this family from our list of unknown Fontenots. This family was listed as #143)
