Charles E. Dill Missing in Jeff Davish Parish from 1905 - 1910

Classification: Lookup
Surnames: DILL
My ancestor, Charles E. Dill, b. abt 1861 in Ohio moved his wife (Jennie) and 4 children from Ohio to Louisiana in 1901 to work on a rice plantation. His wife gave birth to a son on 6 Jan 1903 in Welsh, Jefferson Davis Parish. I have not been able to find a birth record or notice about Karl's birth.

In the 1910 census for Ohio, Jennie is listed with the 5 children, but no Charles. Neither can I find a Louisiana 1910 census listing Charles.

I think there were some cargo ships that left New Orleans around this time, a couple of the ships sinking around Jamaica.

I've been trying to find out what happened to Charles E. Dill for years, but have hit a brick wall.

Would anyone have access to Jeff Davis Parish records or newspapers? Thank you!
