Los Adaes is now closed because they ran out of funding to keep it open. I was there July 19,2012. I called and was told there was no way I could tour. The next day I was at Fort John Baptiste in Natchitoches seeing the Los Adaes artifacts. A young park employee identified himself as the person I had spoken to the day before. He told me that he had to go do some work there, about 15 minutes max he said. He said he would allow us to walk the area for the 15 minutes of work they had to do. However, we began to tell him about the history of our families. He ended up giving us a 1 1/2 hr tour. It was like the hand of God making it happen. We walked the Comino Real and around abandoned wells and house remains deep in the woods around the area.I took many photos.
