I am looking for any information on any of the following names: Botquin fit St. Andre, St. Andre, St. Andrie, St. Andria and St. Andry. Pierre Botquin did St. Andrie was born in France and was a soldier in the French Marines as they were station on ships. He was sent to Montreal, then he went to Boucherville, then to Michigan and back to Boucherville. He was a carpenter, fur trader, boat builder and built his home in Boucherville, where most of his children were born. He had 9 children with Marie Claude Bergouin and at some point in time the Botquin (sometimes spelled Botquoin or Boutquion) and after several generations, the Botquin dit was dropped and the surname St. Andre became the official name for those that changed. There was some that did not drop the name, but I have only been able to trace one. I have a very good family tree from Pierre Sr to my great-grandchildren and some of the others in the clan, but need to hear from them regarding their ancestors and descendants.
