The Doxey family of Winn and Grant Parish Louisiana were from Chariton County, Missouri. They moved from Chariton County to Louisiana in October of 1881. They probably made the move to that area because it appears Mary Ann's brother Samuel Hines/Hynes had been living in that area of Louisiana since about the 1860s.

I have been tracking down the Doxey family for several years and have lots to share. Mary Ann Hines/Hynes is one of my G-G-G grandmothers by her first husband, John? Dalton. She married John T. Doxey in 1862 after her husband and his wife had both died. I am almost certain John Doxey's first wife was Mary Ann sister, Anne.
