hi, clogher is an irish word meaning church or convent,in the context of a surname it can mean man of stone or stoneworker,the surname is uncommon in ireland possibly due to the famine and moving to other countries like the USA, CANADA, ENGLAND AND AUSTRALIA. the surname is now mostly found in south Roscommon in the west of ireland.
