Does anyone know of directory or book that lists sea captains that sailed out of New Orleans during the late 1800s? I am researching Eugene Gaspard who is listed as a sea captain on the Orleans parish censuses. He married Barbara Martin at St Pauls Lutheran church on 17 Dec 1868.
He was b 22 June 1839, possible in France, and he d 7 Nov 1889 in New Orleans.
