I think you hit the nail on the head with your research. As far as the question about John Nobles burial. Who knows? My guesses would be that his wife put him there. Maybe other relatives of his wife's were there? or she just didn't like the spot on their property? or a dispute? who knows?
Maybe town residents wanted him closer since he was well known.
