Seeking information on John W. Evans who married Mary (Bruner)Vanderford, in Ouachita Parish on July 11, 1867. Mary was the widow of Thomas J. Vanderford. I have been unable to trace him in LA before his marriage to Mary or to locate him after the 1870 census. According to the 1870 Van Zandt Co. TX census, he was born abt. 1833 in Alabama. The couple moved to TX about 1868, where daughter Dora Elvira Evans was born. Any records of John W. Evans in Ouachita Parish would be appreciated.
