Bowers Family, Plaquemines

I am researching Joseph Bowe(r)s (b. ~1822 Ire, married to Eliza, lived in Grand Prarie, Plaquemines in 1860). He shows up in the 1850 and 60 census and then drops off the map. I believe he died before 1870. I'm trying to figure out if his brothers were Robert Bowe(r)s (b. ~1836) and John Bowe(r)s (b ~1838) and if their father was James Bowes. I cannot find any info on James Bowes except for a sale of land to John and Robert Bowers in 1856 (which Gladys Stovall-Armstrong found). Can you help me at all with any of this. It looks like Gladys Stovall-Armstrong had almost figured it out before she died.
