Classification: Query
Surnames: Toca

My family is also from New Orleans. Dad moved away to California after WWII. I've gathered a lot of information on the Louisiana Toca's - we are all related except for a couple of families that came in from Cuba. I believe that a black Toca fought for the Union side at the battle of Port Hudson - the first use of black troops in the Civil War. His cousins, my direct ancestors, were fighting for the Confederate side, protecting the fort during the battle for Vicksburg in July 1863.

If you would like to send me some information on your older ancestors, I can see if I have them in my database and send you my information. I'm at crtoca "at" (I wrote my email address this way to avoid spam).
