I live in Louisiana and I have run into a wall. The lack of an 1890 Census is hurting me. The name you mention Dorothea Guerra is a sibling of Lucien Guerra. Lucien Guerra Married Ambrosia Esteve in 1897. From the Obituaries I have found, Ambrosia was married to Anthony Assevedo and had a few kids:
Elicio 21 June 1887 - 19 May 1975
Adam 13 Apr 1891 - 3 May 1972
Joseph 1879 - ?
Marie Assevedo 2 May 1885 - 7 Sep 1973
Ambrosia Estave and Lucien Guerra had:
Clement Guerra 29 Nov 1901 - 15 Oct 1967
Rufino Guerra 18 Oct 1967 - 23 Oct 1964
The problem I am having is that I am focused establish the relationship between Anthony Assevedo and Ambrosia Esteve. I see Ambrosia as a young girl living in a house with siblings and her parents. I see Lucien in a house with sibling and his parents. I am able to see Ambrosia living with Lucien in 1900 and 1920 Census in St Bernard ward 7.
But I just cannot put Anthony or Antonio Assevedo in the same house with Ambrosia with or without kids. The 1890 Census I am told caught fire, and the so i am clueless how Ambrosia went from living at home in 1880 at age 19 and living with Lucien in 1900.
Can you please offer any information on Anthony or Antonio Assevedo? I can only assume he passed away before 1897 when Ambrosia married Lucien. I cannot pull up any death notices for Anthony or Antonio Assevedo, Assavedo, Acevedo, Assevado, etc.
