The Weimer family settled around the Luling/Des Allemands area. They worked at a logging camp owned by George Cousins. I am looking for the ancestor's of Joseph Weimer (1846 - 1917) and his wife Mary Ann Weigel ((1854 - 1901). Joseph came to the area around 1870. I believe he met Mary Ann there in Louisiana. They are buried at Hook and Ladder cemetary in Gretna. Their son Fritz commissioned someone to replace their headstone while he was away at war. When he returned the original headstone had been destroyed and was never replaced. So any information on the headstone was lost. I have searched many lines of my family back very far, some as far as the year 1000. But I can not find the Weimer family.
