I am looking for information to identify, Ripley Rheams (Reams) and his ancestors. My great-grandfather (6 generations-paternally and 7 generations-maternally) was William Allen of South Carolina. William Allen, Jr. came to St Helena Parish in 1800-1810 with Peter, Gideon. Another brother, Matthew 's widow followed in 1836 with her 6 sons and 1 daughter. One of the sons, Herod Allen was my great-grandfather PATERNALLY and the daugher, Rhoda Jane Allen (Herod's sister) was my great-great grandmother MATERNALLY.

Rhoda Jane Allen married Ripley Rheams (Reams) and the only information that I have found on him is he is listed the "1850 Livingston Parish Mortality Index" published as part of the 1850 Census that says he had pneumonia for 6 days and died at age 26. He left a wife (Rhoda Jane Allen) and 2 small children, Marghana Rheams and her brother Richardson Allen Rheams, my great grandfather.

Since my g-grandfather 's name is Richardson Allen Rheams, his middle name is from his mother 's maiden name and we think his first name was probably his dad 's mother 's maiden name.
