I am searching for history on Andre Meche from Germany born 1731, married to Marie Haverstock. Their children's births are in the St. John the Baptist at Edgard records, so I feel sure they must have come in at the German Coast, but I have not found any record of this. Southwest Louisiana Family Records by Fr. Hebert show both Andre and Marie being from Germany, but I have found no record which shows which part of Germany or when they immigrated to Louisiana. Andre's death is recorded in Opelousas Church records, and Marie's death is recorded in Grand Coteau church records. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
