I don't know if there is any connection, but my husband's grandmother mentions in her biography of an Uncle Alex Bush, from Bush, LA. She said the town was named after him. Her name was Helen E Smith, parents were Adeline Louisa Quave and Turner Smith. Look forward to hearing from you.
