I don’t know if you can read the attached obituary, but it’s for Mrs. C. Ferrare, listed as mother of Mrs. A. Sambola. I had to shrink it to fit the notice to the Catholic Ladies’ Society about the funeral. Here’s the main part of it:


On Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1909, at 3:30 o’clock p.m., Widow C. FERRARE, mother of Mrs. A. Sambola, aged 78 years and 7 months, a native of Baden-Baden, Germany, and a resident of this city for the past fifty years.

The relatives, friends and acquaintances of the family and the officers and members of the Catholic Ladies’ Society of St. Vincent de Paul are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will take place Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 4:30 o’clock p.m., from her late residence, No. 2606 Marais Street, between Port and Lafayette Avenue.

Interment in St. Roch Cemetery.
