My father-in-law lived in Chinchuba in the 40s, but he's in his 80s and I'm not sure he'd remember anything about the area.

Try contacting the St. Tammany Parish Library, genealogy section. The librarian there has a lot of information at her fingertips; she may be able to help. http://www.sttammany.lib.la.us/genealogy.html

If that doesn't work, try the St. Tammany Genealogical Society. Someone there nay be able to help.
