I would be so appreciative if anyone can tell me more about the BROOKS,RILEY and BARROW families.

They were African American.

I can find them in the 1870 Census but can't find out about their possible slave roots.

For example, I see a Jeff BROOKS,born in 1843, listed in the 1870 Census as "working on a plantation" but I have no idea what plantations could have been in the area.
