Not sure of that either. Most of the Dawkins from the early years were members of the Springhill Baptist Church near Oakland, Louisiana. It is approx. 12 miles north of Farmerville, LA. near the Louisiana and Arkansas border. There is an African American and White cemetery next to the church. The church was an intergrated congregation when it was originally founded circa 1865.

Several Dawkins are buried there. There is only one Bilberry (George Bilberry), one Nelson (Jeremiah Nelson) and there are'nt any Ellis buried in this cemetery.

The majority of the Ellis are buried at the Meridian Baptist church cemetery. They also have an African American and White Cemetery at this church. It also was originally an integrated congregation when it was founded circa 1854.
Most of the Bilberrys and Bensons are buried at the Sweet Lilly Primitive Baptist Church. All of these churches are within 8-10 miles of each other.
