Vanarsdel/Van/Vann Descendants of both Bossier and Webster Parish

Classification: Query
Surnames: Vanarsdel, Vann. Van
I am looking for descendants of the slaves of William D. Vanarsdale who had children by two of his slaves:

1. Eliza Sergeant/Sergin, and children: Union/Vincent b. 1852, Canada b. 1855, Grandison b. 1856 and Pennie b. 1858 m. Jerome Myers. They used the surname Vanarsdel, lived in both Cotton Valley later returning to the plantation lands of William purchased by Grandison beginning in 1899. The family remained in this area above Doyline until the lands were bought by the U. S. Gov't for the LA Army Ammunition Depot. The Vanarsdel cemetery remains on the site in this location today. Some members of this family also used Vann as their surnames. Some remained in LA, while others moved to TX, CA, KA etc. In 1930 they lived on Vineyard Road above Doyline.

2. Susie, although she might actually be Sophie, perhaps one dau. Kate who married Lorenzo Marshall, and one son Lucius b. ca. 1860. d. in 1933-34 somewhere in the Webster or Bossier Parish area. Interviewed by John Ardis Cawthon about William Vanarsdel's murder.

I am also looking for the name of African American Church's in the Doyline area for the time period of 1880-1940 or so.

Thanks

Judy
