Have you tried looking in newspapers? I have found the obits in the Times-Picayune list the woman's maiden name. Do you know when & where Catherine died?

BTW....I did find some interesting articles about her...if in deed it was her.

A shocking case of inhumanity has come to light on Staten Island,NY
Mrs. Matilda Decker of LongNeck obtained a young girl age nine named Anna Hilton. Long story short, Anna died & a coroners inquest found she came to her death by being beaten in a brutal manner, exposure, & want of proper nourishment at the hands of Mrs. Decker who was arrested.
