WARREN - Helen A. (Johnson) Stedt, 95, of Comins Pond Road, died Thursday night in Mary Lane Hospital, Ware.
Her husband of 53 years, Roland C. Stedt, died in 1993.
She leaves a son, Russell C. Stedt; two daughters, Janet M. Sullivan of Bondsville and Anita L. Ducharme of Warren; a sister, Doris Wright of Caribou, Maine; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; nieces and nephews.
She was born and raised in New Sweden, Maine, daughter of John and Annie (Anderson) Johnson. She lived in Spencer for several years before moving to Warren 51 years ago.Mrs. Stedt was a cafeteria manager for the Warren public schools for 20 years, retiring in 1967. She later worked at the former Robert's Pharmacy for 12 years. She was a member of Warren Federated Church and its Tuesday Club, Afternoon Circle and Women's Guild.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Program, Mary Lane Hospital, 85 South St., Ware 01082; or to Hospice of Hampshire County, P.O. Box 1087, Northampton 01061.
