In tracing my Marshall line I'm trying to do research on John Marshalls who were listed as heads of households in the U.S. Census in Maine in 1810-1830. There are two in Cumberland County:

1) John Marshall of Portland, 1810 Census.

2) John Marshall of Scarborough, 1820 Census.

So far I haven't found any further information about either of these. The one in Scarborough was listed as "Jona." which might be Jonathan instead of John.... but I'm still seeking any information about him and his family.

If anybody has researched either of these and could send me information on the basics of their lives (birth, death, marriage, children, etc.) I'd appreciate it. I'm trying to eliminate possibilities or follow leads.

Thank you --
