I have been trying to research my Boggs family history. Samuel Boggs (b: approx 1695) and his wife Anna (no maiden name) were among the first Scots-Irish settlers of Knox Co. According to the Annals of Warren Samuel Boggs was one of the signers of the agreement made with Gen. Samuel Waldo at St. Georges Fort in 1735. He and his children (john, william, and samuel jr) are mentioned through out the book.
What I'd like to find out is any information regarding where the Boggs family originated from in Europe. According to Ancestry members Samuel was born in 1695 in Londonderry Ireland but I cannot find any evidence of that. Further research indicates that Gen. Samuel Waldo made two trips to Europe to recruit settlers, one in 1934 and one in 1953, but there is no mention of where these voyages took place, which ports, etc.
I'm wondering if you have any information that might help me determine when/where the original settlers of St. George originated from.
