Pierre Turgeon, wife and children used to move from Quebec, Canada to Maine in the late 1800's.
Pierre Turgeon was born Sept 16, 1845 Rock Forest, Sherbrook, PQ, Canada
Zeniod Marie (Lucie) Bergeron was born March 9, 1850 in St. Flaven de Lotbiniere, PQ. Canada
The story goes that Lucie and the youngest child were crossing a river in the winter and went through the ice. Neither survived. The only problem is we do not know where. Either Canada or the USA.
Pierre Turgeon was a lumberman but in the later part of his life he lived with his son in Sask., Canada but returned to the place where his wife died and was buried with her. The only problem is no one knows where that was.
Some of the Turgeon children stayed in Rumford Falls, Maine and we are being lead to believe that Pierre and Lucie are buried there. Pierre died sometime after 1921.
Does anyone know cemeteries in the Rumford area that would be old and maybe we could get in touch with the caretaker and see if these two people are buried there?
I hope someone can help?
Thanking you
