By chance, do you have any additional information on the Moses Peary (born 9 Oct 1817) that went to Tennessee? I know it’s a long shot, but I’m wondering if there could be any connection to my C.M. “Commodore” Perry.
1860 Census, Warren County, Tennessee
Perry, C.M., 32, ME, Steam Mason
Perry, Martha, 28, TN, House Keeping
Perry, Eliza, 9, TN
Perry, James, 6, TN
Perry, William, 4, TN
Perry, Charles, 2, TN
1870 Census, Warren County, Tennessee
Perry, Commodore, 53, ME, Steam Mason
Perry, Martha, 36, TN, Keeping House
Perry, Virginia, 19, TN, House Servant
Perry, James, 16, TN, Farm Labor
Perry, William, 14, TN
Perry, Charles, 11, TN
Perry, Ann, 9, TN
Perry, Victoria, 6, TN
I have been unable to locate any additional information on C.M. He is the only Perry in the area that was born in Maine. Searches for his marriage certificate to Martha, possible Civil War involvement, probate records, etc. have come up empty.
Is there even the slightest chance that C.M. could be Moses?
I would greatly value your insights into this. Thank you.
