i have a question - I just found out that my GGrandfather died in 1953 (according to gravestone). The last census I can find him on is the 1930 living with his married daughter. I can't find him anywhere in 1940. His name was James Hamill, born 1863 in Maine. He was in Rumford in 1930 living with clinton Stewart and daughter Lena. Both of his living children were in rumford in 1940; Lena Stewart and Arthur Hamill, but he is not with either one. Would there have been some sort of "Old Folks Home" in the area that he might have been in as he would have been in his late 70's? He would not have had any other relatives in the area that I know of other than his two children.

Any ideas appreciated.
Lisa
