Was Dixmont ever part of Belfast, ME? Both were part of Hancock Co., ME in the early days. My g-g-g-g grandfather, Josiah Horr is shown in the 1810 census of Dixmont. Indexers at Ancestry have is surname as Thom, but if you look at the record you can see that the name is Horr.

Josiah Hoar/ Horr was from Wayland or Sudbury, MA & moved to Maine from Dublin, NH shortly after the 1800 census. His son, Josiah Jr., born in 1801 was supposedly born in Belfast, ME.

Do any kind of records exist for Belfast or Dixmont from betwwen 1800 and 1812?

This family moved to Ohio in about 1812.
