JENNINGS, Madeline Sawyer
GREENVILLE - Madeline Sawyer Jennings, 96, loving wife of the late Edward F. Jennings, died May 3, 1999, at C.A. Dean Hospital. She was born Sept. 19, 1902, in Greenville, the daughter of Fred J. and Isabel (Files) Sawyer. She was a member of the Union Evangelical Church for more than 80 years and was their organist. She was the organist for the Rockwood Community Church and had taught piano lessons for many many years throughout the Moosehead Lake region. She was a charter member of the Eastern Star and was their organist for more than 60 years. She was a member of the Moosehead Lake Women's Club, the Professional Woman's Club, the Greenville Daughters of the American Revolution and was a member of the Ready Workers since 1920. She was known for making donuts for area stores for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Beverley G. Trembley of West Haven, Conn. and Greenville, Marilyn D. Pelletier of Meriden, Conn.; one sister, Dorothy Budden of Spotsylvania, Va.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, one brother, Kenneth Sawyer and one sister, Louisa Worster. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at McCrory Funeral Home, Greenville. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 1999 at the Union Evangelical Church, Greenville. Burial will be in the family lot in Greenville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Union Evangelical Church, Greenville 04441. Arrangements entrusted to the care of McCrory Funeral Home, Greenville.
