I just did some lookups for you in census pages, and then at www.familysearch.org and .twice. my 5:30 am finger clicked on the wrong thing and made my 2 posts - disappear.

I'll just do a summary for now and try to get back to it later in the morning.

There was a Joseph TARR in Bowdoin, ME (Lincoln Co.) from 1790 to 1820. And, at FamilySearch he is still there in 1830 and 1840.

And, there was a John COOMBS in Bowdoin, ME, in 1820. And it shows a Charlotte COOMBS born there in 1791 born to John and Charlotte COOMBS.
