GOTLEIB HOFFMAN (son of William Hoffman and Susanna Weinbach) & his wife, RACHEL MARSHAL (daughter of William Marshall and Rachel Cox) lived in the 6th district of Baltimore Co, near the Pa. Line. They had 4 children, HENRY, SUSSANA, RACHEL & JACOB. Gotlieb died in the Spring of 1813 and his widow married LEVI LAMMOTTE who lived in the same area. Rachel and Levi had children also and Levi was the guardian of the Hoffman children. There was a lot of property involved and in the 1830's the dispute came to a head and the family all went their separate ways. Rachel moved to Wayne Co.,Indiana with son Joshua and Levi stayed in Baltimore Co.
Susanna had married Washington Williams, Rachel had married George Fisher and Jacob had married Susanna Gildea. Henry had married Lydia Sharrer.
