Possibly Nicholas Beard Sr. is a brother of John. Nicholas has many land trasactions l760's, wife Margaret. German Signature. "Revolutionary Patriots of Frederick County" recites that Nicholas Beard did masonry work for construction of Old Ford Frederick (Wash Co) in l756.
Deed to John Bord (sp) Land Record F-l757, receiving "Wagon Wheels", part of a larger tract called "George's Mistake", George's Venture and Barrens l63 acres, from George French.
Unable to determine where this land is, but probably not Emmitsburg area. Jonathan Hager did the appraisel for Beard estate in l764, Hager is the proprietor of Hagerstown in Washington county, perhaps the Beard land is there also.
