Looking for any info concerning my GGFather. Here is what I have:
Thomas Burns : Born 1824 Ireland
As of the 1900 Census:
He was married for 31 years
His Father and Mother were born in Ireland
He immigrated in 1860 and has been in the US 40 years
He is a naturalized citizen
His occupation is Farmer
He could not read or write
He owned his own home w/ a mortgage (farm)
Thomas’s wife: Margaret O.: Born May 1837 Ireland possible- nationality Welsh/Irish
As of the 1900 Census:
She immigrated in 1853 and has been in the US 47 years
She was married 31 years
She had three (3) children
Her Father and Mother were born in Ireland
She could read and write
Thomas and Margaret's Children:
Michael (not on 1900 census but is on the 1890 census)
John J. (JJ)
As of the 1900 Census:
He was born April 1875 in Maryland
He was 25 and single
He was a farm laborer
He could read and write
Daniel James Burns : Born: October 1878 - Died: Feb. 10th, 1917
As of the 1900 Census:
He was born April 1875 in Maryland
He was 21 and single
He was a farm laborer
He could read and write
