Hynson, Peregrine, death date and children

I hope you can answer some questions or pass on some sources.

Several family trees I’ve found have Rebecca Ellis marrying Peregrine Hynson in 1786 in Cecil Co. MD, then marrying John Carman in 1798, all this with Peregrine dying in 1799 after having children Sarah and Ann with Rebecca. These trees also have John Carman and Rebecca having children Mary, Rachel, Woodmance and John Carman.

I have my gg-grandfather Daniel Kendrick marrying Mary Hinson (I believe should be Hynson since no other Hinson in Cecil or Kent Co. MD in time frame) on 5 Dec. 1812 in Cecil Co. I also have a John Carnan (not Carman) of Cecil Co. marrying Rebecca Hynson on 13 Dec 1798. In addition, I have a letter from John Carnan written to Daniel Kendrick in 1818 (Daniel had removed to Ohio by then). Keeping in mind that in those days the distinction of son vs. son-in-law and daughter vs. step-daughter was usually not made, John in his letter addressed it to "My dear Son D Kendrick" and discussed in one place "my Daughters" and at the end "my love you, Mary, Rachel & children". He also discussed coming to Ohio (this is 1818) without mentioning his wife Rebecca whom these trees have dying in 1816. Since Daniel married Mary Hinson/Hynson and not Mary Carman/Carnan and if a true child of John post his marriage to Rebecca would have been at most 14 at marriage to Daniel, I have formed the following hypothesis:

Peregrine Hynson and Rebecca had a Mary (vice Sarah or Ann?) Hynson prior to Peregrine's death (or within 9 months) and there was no Mary Carnan. Rachel could have been a Carnan - younger sister going to Ohio to help sister Mary with her children (including my g-grandfather William Kendrick born in 1815 in Cecil Co.) Also note that census of that time (1810) has John Carnan vice Carman in MD.

Any ideas, comments, sources, or hints would be appreciated, sincerely,
