BURGESS, Prince George's & Montgomery Co. MD

Classification: Query
I found an Edward BURGESS, b. 1757, s/o James, but I don't know how James fits into the family. FamilySearch says John BURGESS & Jane had son James, b. 1726, but Harry Wright NEWMAN doesn't list any James in their family, and the birth dates of the children would preclude a James. John & Jane had Wm., b. 1721; Anne, 1723; John, 1725; Joseph, 1726; Sarah, 1728; Mary 1730; & Edward, by 1733 (mother Jane was bu. 11 Mar. 1733/4).

Queen Anne Parish, Basil BURGESS, b. 20 Dec. 1741, s/o Charles [of Charles of Wm.] & Martha [WARING], m. 8 Feb. 1759, Ann SMITH & had Elizabeth, b. 16 Dec. 1762; Wm. Fredk. Augustus, b. 15 Jan. 1765; & Charles, b. 18 Dec. 1765 {sic, 1766?} [Basil moved to Queen Caroline Parish, where his children were listed as Amelia, b. 16 Oct. 1759; Richard, b. 2 Mar. 1761; the above three; Basil, b. 31 Dec. 1768; Walter Smith, b. 21 Jan. 1771; & Mary Hollyday BURGESS, b. 17 Mar. 1777.]

There is a BURGESS DNA project, which shows that the families of Edward BURGESS of Prince George's Co., MD, & Wm. BURGESS of Montgomery Co., MD, both born in the 1730's, have a common ancestor, possibly from the family of William of Anne Arundel Co., MD. Could this Edward and William be the ones of Prince George's Parish, above?

Montgomery County didn't exist in 1760, so the early records would most likely be in Prince George's County.
There are many records, so the answer to the puzzle is probably available somewhere! Do you have any more specific clues?
