18. Starkey, Paul Clifton was born 13 MAY 1900 in Chestertown, Kent Co., MD and died 15 MAR 1972 in Chestertown, Kent Co., MD. He married first Hastings, Unknown. He married second Sewell, Martha Estelle 16 APR 1927 in Queen Anne's Co., MD. She was born About 1908 in MD.

I don't think this is quite correct. He married Sewell first and the Hastings. Hastings was my Great-Grandmother and she married to him in the 50's/60's. From my understanding there was a choking/death of my Great Grandmother that was suspicous.

I'm trying to locate a Louise Rebecca Parker of Prince Georges County Maryland. I know that she was born in 1917 to James Irving Parker and Lillian Josephine Parker. Their family used to be groundskeeper at the Prince Georges race track. Louise married my great grandfather, James Melvin Marsellas, and had three children. In approx. 1944, she left and returned home to her parents. We believe she has another child named *Benard Rowe (name may not be right) and his father was Louis (Lewis) Rowe. I know she has lived in Prince Georges County, Queen Anne's County, Calvert County and Anne Arundel County. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Here is what my cousin Les Walls says about the transaction: "Other than Capt Samuel and his brother John Milbourne with Bosticks Chance, this is the first Walls to buy property south and west of Ingleside where Tilghman’s Chance is located. Beaver Dam Branch runs right into town. Many of the Walls’ eventually bought property and lived in this area."

Hope this helps,

Harold Coleman

Ancestry hints to a Phillip Graham born in 1792 who had children named Benjamin and Phillip (both names seem prevalent in my husbans's tree) but cannot tie him via his children to Benjamin. I hope someone sees this post and provides some insight into Phillip Graham of 1792-1871 or Benjamin Lewis Graham. Thank you!

Would love to have someone check it out for me. It is on Rt313, just north of Rt302. thanks for any help. Judy

I was born at greater Baltimore Medical center in Towson, Maryland on September 30th 1969.

My Birth mother was 18 years old (SINGLE) at the time of my birth. her date of birth is 5-30-1951 (very likely a twin to a brother)
She was born in Maryland, 5'4", Brown eyes, Brown Hair, 130 lb , olive skin "very pretty with dimples" 9th grade education and was of Italian-German
decent.
My Biological Grandmother was 45 and maternal grandfather 65.
Birth mother had a sister that was 21, 5'2" Brown hair and Brown eyes, Fair skin with Freckles, 11th grade, Married and had a child.
Maternal uncle was 18, 5'6" Blue eyes , Blond hair and Fair skin and in college.
My birth mother tried in vain to keep me but she was very young. I grew up with a family that loved me like one of their own. I am full of hope, love, and questions, not resentment, bitterness, or animosity.

When I was eighteen, I was able to receive non-identifying information about her and her family. These few pages were, and have been, my only tangible link to her. I’ve read them over and over, and while they only capture her at a single moment in time they bestow me with just that,a view through a window into her life of some 40+ years ago.

Since then, I’ve tried numerous methods of trying to find her. please if anyone can help it is greatly appreciated.
Benjamin Wells, born 2nd Nov. 1737, was a son of Sibylla and Humphrey Wells, Jr. His life is well documented in Queen Anne’s County until 1778 when he sold the last property under his name and does not appear to have bought another one.

After 1778, no documentation in QAC. Does anyone have a notion about where he (and presumably his family) went?
James Henry Lathe born 13 May 1896 in Queenstown, MD per his draft registration card. He lived in Baltimore, MD for most of his life. His parents are Sarah Louisa “Lula” Creighton Lathe and Walter Lathe. Lula’s parents are Robert H. Creighton (born in 1840) and Sarah Jane Gable (born in 1845). The 1870 and 1880 census for Robert show him living in Baltimore, MD and just show MD as his birthplace. Robert died in 1888. In the 1900 census living in Queenstown, MD are Lydia Creighton Higdon and her husband George. Lydia is also a daughter of Robert and Sarah Jane Creighton. Two brothers, Robert Creighton, Jr. and William H. Creighton, are shown in the 1910 census living in Queenstown, MD. Though most of the family lived in Baltimore, there seems to be a connection to Queenstown for this family, and I wonder if Robert H. Creighton was born in Queen Anne’s County as well. Any additional information on any of these people would be appreciated. Thanks!

Jackson Family in Queen Anne Co c 1800

Thomas Jackson is born Sept 18, 1811 Queen Anne Co Maryland- died 1907 Huntington Co Indiana. Many clues about his Origin come from the following book: .

Huntington Cnty Indiana Biographical memoirs 1901 pg 478

"Thomas Jackson is an eastern man, born Sept 18, 1811, in Queen Anne County Maryland . His father James Jackson a blacksmith by occupation, was also a Marylander and served with distinction in the war of 1812. When Thomas was 14
(1825-1826) years of age the family moved to Westmoreland Co penn; thence after a two years residence to Ohio, settling in the county of Columbiana, where the subject grew to manhood."

Additionally, Thomas is supposed to have brothers James, Edward, Matthew, John. I did find a reference to a James Jackson of Queen Anne Co fighting in the Battle of Slippery Hill in the War of 1812. James wife is possibly a Sarah Wraks???

Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated!
Blessings!
Susan
Has anyone studied the Edward Box of Queen Anne's County, Maryland? He married an Eliz'h Roe on 18 Feb 1739. Then it appears that they could have had a daughter right away based on the birth record of 27 Apr 1740 of Rachall Backs (Box?) to Edward Backs (Box?) and wife Elizh (christening of 17 Sep 1740 at Saint Luke’s Protestant Episcopal Parish, Church Hill, Queen Anne’s, Maryland). Then 11 Oct 1742 a son, John Brily Bax (Box?), born to Edward Bax (Box?) and Elizh, could also be this same family (no christening date given but records from same as above). Then 26 Jun 1759, I find an Eliza Box who married a Stephen Yoe (Roe?) in Queen Anne's County, MD. I'm not sure that there is a connection to Edward Box and Eliza Box but I guess there is a possibility. Does anyone recognize any of these names? Please email me at vernaws@aol.com or post a return message here if you have any information that would help identify this set of Boxes. Thank you so much! Verna Stone

Is there a common source in QA county for records from the 19th century? A records office or library that might house the old records? Trying to determine where else to look for marriage birth and death records.

Thank you!!

David H
