Has anyone any information on slave traders in Princess Anne or anywhere in SOmerset county? I am looking for known slave traders who lived in SOmerset county or general information on slave trade in that area as well.
The family that I believe bought and sold slaves in Princess Anne lived in North and SOuth Carolina were John and Eli Springs, they may have worked through relatives in MD by the name Gassaway or ALexander. I believe the Springs were involved in slave trading in Princess Anne around 1770s - 1830s.
I am trying to trace origin of ancestors who were enslaved by the Springs. Thank you for any help or leads you might have.
