Thought I would ask about a Mr. Lee but I don't know his
given name. The Ellis family bible states that Jackson Ellis
and his wife Susan Goldsmith married in St. Marys County, MD
about 1775 and had children John, Edward and Benjamin and daughter Nancy. Daughter Nancy married a Mr. Lee and traveled with her brother Edward to Fauquier County, VA, where he married Rebecca Nelson in 1809, then they all moved
to Washington County, KY. Nancy and her husband moved to
Muskingum County, Ohio possibly around 1820. Edward Ellis
and family moved to Scott County, MO on the Mississippi River in 1826. I have looked at the early 1800 census of Muskingum County, Ohio. There are several Lee males there
but I don't know which one might be the one that I looking for. The Ellis family used names in naming their children
that are probably their mothers or grandmothers maiden names
and one such name is Harden. Also I have noted that Dennis
and Lisa Stein have posted a message on the Lee family, stating that the Lee family used the name Ellis in naming their children. Does any of this sound familiar to your
Lee family?
