The book covers over 2300 people, includes 138 pictures, and is 295 pages of information on So Md Hammett's. As to Henry, he is the 4th generation listed. Born on 01Jan1779, he served in the War of 1812. He married Catherine Wise 01 Oct 1826. She was the daughter of Neil Wise and Jane Cullison. She died on 11 Nov 1882. They had 4 children. Their son, James H Brochard Hammett was born Oct 1829. He married Elizabeth E Tubman on 02 Oct 1861. She was the daughter of Henry Tubman and Eleanor. They had 6 children. Their daughter, Catherine Ellen Hammett was born 18 Jul 1865. She married Charles P Abell, son of Robert Abell and Jane E Paul on 20 Nov 1882. They have 4 children. Bissell is incorrect. The correct spelling is Biscoe. Richard was the fourth generation Hammett that I have. He was baptized 10 Feb 1757 at St. Andrew's Church. He married Nancy Biscoe in 1778. They had 7 children. His will is listed in the book. It probably contains all the information you will need on the Hammett family. I spent over 40 years collecting information as that is my mother's family.
