I have an Edward Turner who may very well be your Edward Turner. Mine also died in 1773, was the son of Samuel Turner (1677-1747) and Lydia Dent (abt 1677 - ). Lydia Dent was the daughter of immigrant John Dent and Mary Hatch (1647 - bef 1725/26). Mary Hatch was the daughter of John Hatch (-d. 1663, SMC) and Anne Spinke.

Newman, in CHARLES COUNTY GENTRY, p. 59, states that Lydia Dent married Samuel Turner, son of Edward, and lists their children as including; Edward, John, Samuel, Ruth and Micha.

A daughter of Edward Turner ( -d. 1773) and Elinor Wilson (1711-1781) was Susannah Turner (1749-16 Sept. 1805), who married John Carpenter (1735-1805). Their son, Charles Carpenter ( - d. 1823) was born in St. Mary's county.

Charles Carpenter's daughter, Elizabeth Catherine Carpenter (1823-1893) married Hezekiah Garner Hayden (Abt 1813-1858), son of Peregrine Hayden (1764, SMC - 1848) and Eliza Garner (-d. 1806), and they made their home in St. Mary's county. One of their 12 children, Sarah Hayden (1846-1923), married William McKenny Burroughs, and they lived in Charles county, MD.
